HI THERE - WELCOME TO OUR WEB-SITE.

My name is Peter Day and with my wife Linda we've been Linedancing for about fifteen years and teaching for about eight.

To support the up-keep of the centre we run LINEDANCE CLASSES at the SUNRAY COMMUNITY CENTRE IN TOLWORTH, SURBITON for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS through to INTERMEDIATE in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere as well as TWO MONTHLY SOCIAL NIGHTS, see SATURDAY NIGHT SOCIALS, the emphasis always being on having fun and not taking life too seriously.

Our dancers come in all shapes and sizes (see 'photo on NEWS IN BRIEF PAGE), and ages from 10yrs to 82yrs.
Our dances are chosen to cover a wide range of abilities.

It is said 'you can't please all the people all of the time' however we do try our best.

SUNDOWNERS LINEDANCE CLASSES run every TUESDAY & THURSDAY EVENINGS from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.

7.30pm to 8.45pm - Is For Beginners & Improvers who have mastered the basic steps and terminology and wish to 'move up a gear'.

8.45pm to 10.30pm - The emphasis is on Intermediate Dances with a mix of Improver / Easier Intermediate dances thrown in for good measure.

The idea is to have fun and enjoy dancing to good music in good company - not to be brain of Britain or to gain a hernia!

We start at 7.30pm every Tuesday and Thursday and all levels are welcome from that time - you do not have to 'wait for your slot' to start dancing.

In 2002 my linedance instructor Glynn Burgess, who ran Lonestar Linedancing from outlets in Tolworth and Chessington in Surrey decided to retire and left me the task of trying to keep our small group of dancers together. This for me was a daunting task as I had never instructed before or held a microphone, let alone engaged in 'public speaking'.

I am now pleased to say I am a qualified BWDA 2000 (Best Western Dance Association) Instructor and our numbers have increased four-fold since taking over from Glynn in 2002.

We now run a very successful Dance & Social Club in the SUNRAY COMMUNITY CENTRE (adjacent Knollmead Primary School) in Tolworth of which I am Club Secretary/Treasurer & Trustee.

The Club is run voluntarily by me and a small committee on behalf of it's members, the majority of whom like to LINEDANCE or JIVE/R&Roll. But you do not have to be a dancer to join or to have some fun with us.

We have a small 'FRIDAY JIVE CLUB' which meets alternate Fridays to practice moves they have learnt elsewhere.

We hold regular MONTHLY SOCIALS featuring LIVE ACTS! with TOP NAME TRIBUTE ARTISTES! to cater for all our regular dancers and we encourage them to bring along friends & family for a great night out.
THESE NIGHTS ARE ALWAYS VERY POPULAR AND ADVANCE BOOKING IS RECOMMENDED

NOT A DANCER? SO WHAT! If you are looking for GOOD COMPANY, A FRIENDLY WELCOMING ATMOSPHERE, YOU ARE STILL WELCOME TO JOIN US, NOT ALL OUR SUPPORTERS ARE DANCERS.

In addition to our MONTHLY LIVE! SOCIALS we join up with HOTSHOTS LINEDANCE CLUB for a joint MONTHLY LINEDANCE SOCIAL at, THE SUNRAY, which is STRICTLY LINEDANCE Only.

OUR LINEDANCE CLASS FEES ARE £4.00 / £5.00 PER SESSION DEPENDING ON LEVEL BEING TAUGHT AND FRIDAY 'JIVE CLUB' is £5.00 entrance fee.
DANCERS ARE WELCOME TO BRING ALONG FRIENDS FOR A QUIET DRINK AT OUR BAR (£3.00 Guest Fee Applies which is given to charity).
